The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed child care services in Minnesota and across the nation. To help providers withstand the financial burden caused by the pandemic, Minnesota created the Peacetime Emergency Child Care Grant program (PECC) and distributed the first of three round of funds in April 2020. More information about eligibility requirements and a summary of the applicants and awards by round can be found at https://www.childcareawaremn.org/providers/emergency-child-caregrants/. This fact sheet provides a summary of application patterns and the characteristics of providers who applied or did not apply for the grants. (author abstract)
