A rural Texas veterinary clinic sought to solve the issue of child care for the employees’ young children needing care during the work day. The practice owner purchased a small house near the clinic to provide a childcare facility near the workplace and hired a nanny as a company employee to watch the children. This allowed all veterinarians and support staff with young children to have the flexibility to come to work for long hours, early mornings, and later evenings.
