This article provides an overview of how programs, such as the Chicago-based Child-Parent Center Preschool to 3rd Grade Program (CPC-P3) can help to close achievement gaps among children from all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. The Chicago Longitudinal Study and the Midwest CPC Expansion Study are discussed to illustrate successful outcomes in six Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin school districts.
