This brief highlights research about the influence of Early Head Start on children’s early behavioral and cognitive development, family well-being, home environments, as well as parental behaviors and parents’ emotional responsiveness. Additionally, there are explanations about why the early years are a critical period of child development and what Early Head Start does to promote child and family well-being.
