“We’re more than a daycare”: Reported roles and settings for early childhood professionals and implications for professionalizing the field

The purpose of this study is to examine how the extant literature, as well as EC professionals working in center-based settings, label the settings and roles for working with children 3–5 in the US. Next, we discuss the US EC context and then turn to current research regarding professionals’ perspectives regarding their roles and settings. (author abstract)
