Exploring the challenge of teachers’ emotional labor in early childhood settings

Description:

The purpose of this paper is to discuss important issues related to emotional labor in early childhood settings in the United States. The focus will be on understanding what emotional labor is and how it can impact educators based on the limited available research. The implications of the current research and areas for future research will be discussed. Possible solutions to the challenges of engagement in emotional labor, including the use of mindfulness techniques for early childhood teachers, will be explored. (author abstract)
