Executive summary: BIE Family and Child Education (FACE) program: 2019 report


This summary is based on the 2019 status report about the Bureau of Indian Education’s Family and Child Education (FACE) program, an American Indian early childhood education/parental involvement program. The summary includes the following sections: program design and implementation; FACE participation; early detection and screening for FACE children; cognitive outcomes for FACE children; home literacy practices; parent involvement in children’s education; outcomes for FACE adults; and integration of American Indian language and culture.
