The 2024 NSECE will document the availability and use of CCEE across the U.S. It will capture families' needs, preferences, and choices of non-parental care for children under age 13, alongside providers’ child care and early education offerings. The 2024 NSECE will also build on findings 8 from the 2012 and 2019 NSECE to allow for comparisons of supply and demand of child care and early education over the 12-year data collection span. The data will also support examination of the ways in which the child care and early education field responded to policy initiatives between 2012 and 2024, including the period covering the COVID-19 pandemic.
