The first set of statewide competencies were developed through a collaborative process and adopted in 2015. Since the publication of those competencies, we have gathered feedback from the field on their usefulness. We now have an updated set of competencies that is based on this feedback and ready to be published. The major updates to the competencies are based on the input that we have received. The major updates can be summarized in two categories: Simplification and Cultural Responsiveness. (author abstract)
