Music Play Zone II: Deepening parental empowerment as music guides for their young children

A case study of parents' experiences of building a community of learners in an early childhood music class using the Music Play Zone--an online social networking site, their perceptions of the benefits of participation in the online community, the forms of information and types of questions about children's musical development parents shared in the online social network, and the early childhood music teacher's perceptions of her understanding of students, delivery of instruction, and communication with parents using the network, based on data from both the course instructor and 6 mothers who participated in an early childhood music class with their children
