Best practice for a sure start: The way forward for Children's Centres

Description:
The All Party Parliamentary Group for Sure Start (APPG) was founded in March 2010 in order to enable Parliamentarians with an interest in early years policy, and specifically in Sure Start Children's Centres, to come together to build the understanding of the role and benefits of Centres; promote the development of Sure Start Centres; and to identify and share best practice across the country. Over the past year, the Group has invited representatives from local authorities, voluntary sector providers, senior civil servants, health professionals, parents' groups and early years experts to provide evidence to inquiry sessions designed to shape and influence the policy and delivery of Sure Start Children's Centres in the future. This is the final report of this inquiry. (author abstract)
