Description:
The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) federal program (Title IV, Part B) provides expanded learning opportunities for participating children in a supervised, safe environment through grants to local education agencies. Under federal guidelines, such centers are entities that assist students in meeting state and local academic achievement standards through a wide range of academic and personal enrichment activities during non-school hours. In February 2013, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education secured comprehensive evaluation services from Align Education, LLC, to assess impacts of the federal grant program in the District of Columbia. This report publishes evaluation results of the program from 2007 to 2012. (author abstract)
