Primary schools providing access to out of school care: Research report

Description:
The Department for Education commissioned TNS BMRB to undertake an analysis of data collected as part of the sample build survey of the 2013 Childcare and Early Years Providers Survey, with a view to understanding the number of schools that offer out of school childcare during term time, and during the school holidays. This report provides estimates on the number and percentage of primary schools in England providing access to: Before school care; After school care; Holiday care; Both before school and after school care; and Before school, after school and holiday care. The data are provided at regional level; by level of deprivation; and, by delivery of the provision (i.e., by the school itself, in partnership with another school/s, or in partnership with another provider including PVI). The key findings to emerge from the analysis are outlined below, and are discussed in more detail in the main body of the report, alongside the main data tables. (author abstract)
