This updated version of a 2011 study examines cost savings to Detroit and Michigan of preparing an at-risk child for school through early childhood education, based on school graduation and expenditure data, poverty and crime rates, and other data for Detroit and Michigan, and on estimates of the measured influence of early childhood education programs from research literature.
