Parent Aware: Perceptions of the Building Quality relationship-based coaching model

Description:
Coaching is integral to Building Quality and Parent Aware. A growing body of research indicates that this type of individualized, relationship-based professional development leads to improved instructional practices, which in turn affect child outcomes. Gathering more in-depth information about the content of coaching sessions, the use of coaching best practices, and the experiences of programs receiving coaching supports can inform the Minnesota Department of Human Resources' decision-making about the structure and implementation of Building Quality. This report shares findings from two sources of data collection: surveys with Parent Aware Quality Coaches and interviews with participating programs. Coaches and programs were asked to share their experiences with Building Quality coaching during a six-month cohort, from January to June 2019. (author abstract)
