Developing a bilingual associate degree program for Spanish-speaking early childhood educators

Description:
This is an account of the initial experience of a newly-established bilingual early childhood associates degree at the University of the District of Columbia Community College. The program was created in response to Washington DC's 2016 regulatory changes that roll-out a timetable to require center directors and home providers have degrees by 2022 and 2023. This document describes the design process for the degree program's development. It also provides an account of student support issues that were encountered and overcome.
