The goal of this study is to determine the associations between FCCH provider and parental feeding practices, nutrition knowledge, self-efficacy and food environment influences on child’s weight. To answer the following aims, we will conduct online surveys of 120 caregivers of 3-to-5 years old children in Oklahoma. Aim 1: Determine the independent and cumulative association between FCCH provider and parental healthful and controlling feeding practices on child’s weight. We hypothesize provider and parent healthful feeding practices will be independently and cumulatively associated with lower zBMI and provider and parent controlling feeding practices with higher zBMI in children. Aim 2: Determine the independent and cumulative association between FCCH provider and parental nutrition knowledge and self-efficacy on child’s weight. We hypothesize that higher provider and parent nutrition knowledge and self-efficacy will be independently and cumulatively associated with lower zBMI in children. Aim 3: Determine the independent and cumulative association with FCCH and home food environment on child’s weight. We hypothesize that healthier FCCH and home food environments will be independently and cumulatively associated with lower zBMI in children. (author abstract)
