Access with education improves fruit and vegetable intake in preschool children

Description:

The objective of this study was to determine if FV consumption is different between Head Start preschool children whose parents received produce for home use (treatment A), children whose parents received produce for home use in combination with classroom-based education (ie, SNAP-Ed) and take-home nutrition information (treatment B), and children whose parents received the standard of care with no produce or education (comparison). Carotenoid biometric measurement was used to evaluate children’s behavior change (FV consumption). (author abstract)
