A Strategic Direction for 2020-2025 outlines a series of bold actions and improvements to benefit children and families across the state by 2025 and establishes a Ten-Year North Star Vision for Alaska’s early childhood system. The three main goals focus on children from prenatal through age 8, their families, and their communities. This plan aims to provide children and families in all Alaska communities with equitable access to resources, quality affordable care and education, and every opportunity for them to succeed. While considering Alaska’s fiscal challenges, the plan also recognizes the importance of elevating the early childhood system as a strategy to move us toward economic stability. (author abstract)
