Description:
As a result of increased national attention on the numerous benefits of early education, a number of plans have been proposed to increase access to high-quality pre-Kindergarten (pre-K). Most recently, on November 13th the Strong Start for America's Children Act was introduced in the House by Representatives George Miller (D-CA) and Richard Hanna (R-NY), and in the Senate by Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) and a number of other Senate Democrats. Below is a chart with a brief overview of pending proposals, with additional details below the chart. (author abstract)
