Oregon is home to 269,534 children, from birth to kindergarten entry age. Our state is in the process of changing how it supports young children and their families and, in doing so, putting itself on a path to an even brighter future. Overwhelming evidence tells us that investing in young children and their families has a lasting, positive impact across their lifetime. Raise Up Oregon: A Statewide Early Childhood System Plan 2024-2028 is grounded in equity, the science of child development, and a firm understanding that it takes leaders from early care and education, health, higher education and workforce development, housing, human services, and public education—along with families, communities, and the public and private sectors—to work together during this critical period of children’s lives.
