Description:
This report evaluates the Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE) program, which is funded by the Texas 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) program. This 2014-2015 program evaluation provides findings for three research questions related to the relationship between the quality of programs, student engagement, and math, reading, attendance, and disciplinary outcomes; the cost effectiveness and sustainability of the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) Pilot Project (SPP), which provides additional funding for some ACE programs to increase academic support; and the results of programming on the above student outcomes as well as on-time grade promotion. Conclusions and recommendations to improve the program are presented as well.
