Colorado Shines quality rating and improvement system: Coaching survey report [Executive summary]

Description:
Coaching is a promising strategy to strengthen the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of early care and education (ECE) providers to best serve children and their families. Colorado Shines offers quality improvement supports, including on-site coaching, to help ECE providers increase and maintain their quality. As of July 2016, Colorado Shines coaches are required to have an active Early Childhood Coaching Credential. This credential is available to all early childhood coaches in Colorado, not just those who provide coaching services for Colorado Shines. The Coaching Credential is aligned with the Colorado Coaching Competencies--the skills and dispositions established by the state for effective coaching. As part of the Colorado Shines evaluation, Child Trends partnered with the Office of Early Childhood (OEC) and the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) to survey early childhood coaches about their perceptions of and experiences with Colorado Shines and the Early Childhood Coaching Credential.
