This is a pilot study to test a new methodology for calculating child care market rates in North Carolina. Included is a study of the association between star level and the variables of price, operating costs, and staff compensation. 2015 data was collected from a purposive sample of child care sites in all regions of the state. Both center-based sites and family child care sites were studied.
