A presentation of the 20 year history of Reach Out and Read, a pediatric primary care outreach program for low-income children that encourages parents to read to their children that provides a book to take home at each pediatric visit from 6 months to 5 years of age as well as an overview of research that highlights the importance of reading aloud to children
