Massachusetts families with children from birth through age 5 lack an identifiable system of information about and connections to early childhood services. As a result, many cannot easily find the resources they need. With funding from the Commonwealth Children’s Fund, researchers from Urban Institute, in partnership with Kimberly Lucas from Northeastern University, documented conditions in Massachusetts for families with children from birth through age 5 and developed recommendations. This fact sheet briefly summarizes existing conditions and presents recommendations to inform the design and implementation of an early childhood system of information about and connections to services for families with children from birth to age 5.
