This brief presents a summary of a research project examining several outcomes of the Higher Achievement summer- and after-school program. The Higher Achievement program serves a population of junior high-aged students from at-risk communities in the Washington, DC area. This study monitored the reading and math performance and admittance to selective high schools of participants.
