Identifying mechanisms behind policy interventions via causal mediation analysis

This paper examines a statistical framework for the analysis of causal mechanisms, often referred to as causal mediation analysis. Data is analyzed from two policy interventions, the Perry Preschool project and the Job Search Intervention Study (JOBS II), illustrating the importance of understanding causal mechanisms in program evaluation.
